HH: When did you discover that you wanted a career in the beauty industry?
LC: I’ve always had an interest in hair – ever since I was young, I always found the first thing I would notice and analyze in a person, was their hair.   I also grew up with very curly hair and had to learn from an early age how to manage it and I enjoyed that.

HH: What your favorite Hotheads Hair Extension color?
LC: 23

HH: Is there anyone that you would like to work with whom you haven't yet?
LC: Jen Atkin

HH: Do you think this is a skill that successful beauty professionals are born with or is it one that can to be cultivated and perfected?
LC: I believe the technical part of it can be a learned skill, but the creativity and artistic eye is something that you are born with and what really makes a truly successful beauty professional.

HH: How can young men and women who are aspiring to work in the beauty industry begin their journey?
LC: Get their hands dirty and work in a hair salon, always looking for the latest trends and learn to put your own spin on it.

LC: Knowing what aspect of the industry is your passion – color, cut, styling, etc.

HH: What is the hardest part about working in beauty?
LC: Realizing that everyone is different and knowing that beauty means something different to everyone.

HH: Is beauty school a necessary step to take toward a career?
LC: Definitely, everyone should have the basic education and training you learn in beauty school.

HH: Who has inspired you the most throughout your career in beauty?
LC: My clients; everyone that sits in my chair is different.  My clients are constantly challenging my creativity to give them something new and fresh.

HH: Why do you think you decided to become a hair stylist?
LC: The fact that in an hour, with just something as simple as a blow dry, I could change the way someone feels about themselves.

HH: What inspires you? Who inspires you?
LC: Knowing that I can help somebody feel great about themselves, even if it’s just through hair.

HH: What are your favorite Hotheads Hair products?
LC: The extension line is the best in the market, but the SILKY SMOOTH Deep Hydrating Masque is my new favorite treatment!

HH: Which styling tools do you use most often?
LC: Can’t live without my shears, blowdryer and a round brush!

HH: What are some good tips for young people trying to break into the industry?
LC: Education is key and always stay true to your personal creativity.

HH: How do you feel hair relates to personal style?
LC: I feel no look is complete without your hairstyle – whether it’s up or down.

HH: How do you think that hair relates to a person's confidence?
LC: I believe everyone feels good when their hair looks good!
