CUTS FOR CANCER

LMC Beauty Factory offers free haircutsfor hair donations to Locks of Love

LMC Beauty Factory and Locks of Love present “Cuts for Cancer, a month long effort followed by an event on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Located at 17670 NW 78th Avenue #106, Miami, LMC Beauty Factory opened their doors on May 1, 2013. Owner, Leslie Marie CarreƱo had this meaningful idea after her friend was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 2011 at the age of 27. Monica Gracia donated her hair to Locks of Love before starting her treatments and chemo. Locks of Love is a non-profit charity based in the United States. The organization accepts donations of human hair and money with the purpose of making wigs for financially disadvantaged children under the age of 21 and who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Now that Monica is cancer free, LMC Beauty Factory would like to extend their services to raise awareness for the fight against cancer.

They will be offering free haircuts from Thursday, September 12, 2013 to Friday, October 11, 2013 to anyone that fits the Locks of Love hair requirements and would like to donate their hair. Donors will get 15% off their next service and will be invited to attend the “Cuts for Cancer” event on Saturday, October 12th at LMC Beauty Factory. The event will be hosted by Annie Vazquez of TheFashionPoet.com, Susset Cabrera of MiamiBeatsandSazon.com and Natalie Leon @iFollowNat. Guests will enjoy swag bags with goodies from 12 Benefits and Condition Culture, sweets compliments of The SweetHouse, pink champagne and more. Most importantly, guests will have a chance to meet breast cancer survivor, Monica Gracia. There will be a silent auction during the event. Items will include an exclusive swimsuit designed by Kristina Ashley in honor of Monica, a 3 month membership to Crossfit Valeo, teeth whitening service by Lakes Orthodontics and more. 100% silent auction proceeds will be donated to Locks of Love.

Monica has set up a team fund to raise money for the 2013 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Link to Donate
